Land Art

Artists Create Original Art
     During the land art project,
I created original art by incorporating the idea of a stick figure and making it out of sticks. We made different figures with different features.

Artists collaborate
While doing this project, my group contributed different ideas. We debated on what materials to use and how to create the stick figures. Through our combined ideas, we produced the different figures that we have now.

Sculpture

Artists Create Original Art
My sculpture project was original because I turned a childhood movie scene into an art piece. The Jungle Book was one of my favorite movies, and I used a classic scene from it as my inspiration.

 Artists Develop Art Making Skills
I developed the skill of sculpting as I completed this project. I had not had much previous practice with this technique, but I progressed in this skill throughout the project.

Perspective

Artists Solve Problems
During this project, I had trouble with creating a horizon line that would for my perspective piece. While drawing downtown Apex, I did not want to have the horizon line and vanishing point on the paper. I overcame this obstacle by attaching another piece of paper to my artwork and having the vanishing point and horizon line on that sheet of paper. By doing this, I attained a realistic look of downtown Apex.

Artists Create Original Art
For this project, I chose the theme: Where I'm From. I acquired inspiration for this piece from my hometown (Apex). I chose to draw the downtown area, which is a historical landmark around the area. I incorporated my favorite parts of downtown Apex into my drawing, making it more original.

Art History

For our Art History project, we chose the neoclassical movement, and in particular the George Washington portrait by Gilbert Stuart. In my group, I worked on painting the cut out, Jerry worked on the presentation, and DaQuan acted in the video. If I was to do this project again, I would measure the cut out of George Washingtons head so the film would look more realistic.

Portrait

Artists Create Original Art
My portrait was original due to the fact that I reflected it across the middle of the paper and drew the same portrait completely opposite. I used opposite colors and had my portrait facing the opposite way.

Artists Develop Art Making Skills
During this project, I developed the skill of tracing. By using this skill, I could replicate my portrait and flip it across the paper.
